Humboldt Bay
(Carleen McCornack)
I hear the traffic roar today
It reminds me of the way
The ocean sounds
Just across the bay.
Oh the sun shines out today
It's so nice to fell it that way
But when the evening comes, the fog rolls in
To end this Humboldt day.
Oh, California, I wasn't born there.
But despite what they say
I sit here in the valley, but I'm really on the bay
In my boat still afloat, driftin' away.
Never have I known
Such peace from friends alone
But time moves on,
Life rewrites our songs.
But if I find myself
Down on 101 down south
Well, I'll stop and stay on Humboldt Bay
With friends I live without.
Oh, California, I wasn't born there.
But despite what they say
I sit here in the valley, but I'm really on the bay
In my boat still afloat, driftin' away.
I sit here in the valley, but I'm really on the bay
In my boat still afloat, driftin' away.
