Like A Rainbow

(Mike McCornack)

Years gone by, I’ve not been troubled
By the changing of the seasons.
I could always find a passage through.
But now, my heart is troubled for a thousand unknown reasons
And my arms come reaching out for you.

Don’t you see, you’re like a rainbow to me
You’re like a rainbow to me, you’re like a rainbow.
When clouds are all I see, it seems the rainfall must be
An invitation for you to be my rainbow.

Out of doors the clouds have gathered
And the rains have started falling,
And the summer’s final rose is on the vine.
That rose is in my thoughts today,
I ached to see it fade away,
I ache to feel the passing of my time.

[chorus]

There’s a sunset every evening
And a sunrise every morn’,
And a billion shining stars across the night.
Each season is a promise that the miracle continues,
Each life, a prism bursting forth with light.
