My Best Friend Lars
(Mike McCornack)
Well, I have a little bear and he sits on my bed
On the pillow by my head and his name is Lars.
He's a grizzly bear, you see,
But he never grizzles when he plays with me.
Now Lars once lived in a magic land
Where he fought with a dragon with his two bear hands
He grizzled with the dragon for a week and a year,
Till his hair got sizzled and he lost one ear.
Now marvelous Lars, you're a bear among bears
With your rips and your tears and your one ear gone
You've traveled near, and you've traveled far
You're my beary, beary, beary, beary best friend Lars.
Now, he defeated the dragon, but at great cost,
For Lars was tired and Lars got lost,
He walked and he wandered and he nearly died,
That's when I found him in my yard outside.
Now Lars looked sad, and I had a hunch
That he needed love, and he needed lunch
I filled him up with peanut butter, catsup and bread
And gave him a home on the pillow by my head.
Now marvelous Lars, you're a bear among bears
With your rips and your tears and your one ear gone
You've traveled near, and you've traveled far
You're my beary, beary, beary, beary best friend Lars.
Well, I have a little bear and he sits on my bed
On the pillow by my head and his name is Lars.
He's a grizzly bear, you see,
And I love Lars, and Lars loves me.
