Where the Wind Blows
(Mike McCornack)
A little breeze comes through the window
On a summer’s evening
Wondering just where the wind goes
When it takes it’s leaving.
Since the day that you were born
Through each passing hour
Watching as you grow and learn
As life comes into flower.
And your heart knows
Where the wind blows
Small black marks upon the wall
Where each year’s growth was measured
Each date I can still recall
And every mark I treasure.
[chorus]
Each of us a tiny boat
Upon a vast blue ocean
Through the swells and storming gales
Just riding with the motion.
[chorus]
Someday on a summer’s evening
When the wind comes blowing
When I’m gone and but a memory
You’ll know where I’m going.
[chorus]
