Wooly Old Wally Walloo
(Mike and Carleen McCornack)
Oh, by golly, don't you think it's jolly
When the ivy and the holly and the snow come due.
When it comes December, I want you to remember,
The fellow that we're all indebted to.
He keeps us warm and fuzzy,
Quite a fellow, was he,
Wooly old Wally Walloo, oh yeah, Wooly old Wally Walloo.
It was way, way back in days of old,
When the Winter came on, all the people got cold.
But way across the meadow, not affected by the weather,
Was a wooly little fellah called Walloo.
His name was Wally Walloo, he was a sheep, it's true,
But Wally loved people more than most folks do.
Bold and kind and caring, he believed in sharing.
Wally would do anything for you.
[chorus]
As the temperature dropped and the night grew black,
An icy wind blew through a shaky old shack.
As Wally watched the folks within, shiver in their furless skin,
He resolved to give 'em what they lacked.
Wally shared his fleece with that family,
It was a sheep's first gift to humanity.
And soon the folks were knittin', sweaters, socks and mittens,
The warmth of Wally's wool made history!
Oh, by golly, don't you think it's jolly,
When the ivy and the holly and the snow come due.
A gift of sheer compassion, it set the trend in fashion,
Wally's gift is shared by me and you.
It keeps us warm and fuzzy,
Quite a fellow was he,
Wooly old Wally Walloo, oh yeah, Wooly old Wally Walloo.
He's cool.
Wooly old Wally Walloo.
